It all started with Benji. Not a hero in shining armor. Not a wizard with a staff. Just a cat. A very hungry, very opinionated cat.

One ordinary afternoon, we ventured into the fluorescent-lit aisles of Smart & Final. The mission? Cat food. The stakes? Unknown. We picked the finest blend of crunch and mystery meat, returned home, and presented it to Benji like an offering to a furry deity.

He sniffed. He paused. He took a bite.

And then—he said it. “NOM.”

But this wasn’t just any nom. It echoed. It shimmered. It sparkled. Reality bent. Time hiccupped. The air pulsed with flavor and possibility. From that single, cosmic crunch, the NOMverse exploded into existence.
